Junior and Senior Software Engineer
A role with real influence
At Scienta Omicron, your voice counts.
You’ll have broad responsibilities, high autonomy, and the chance to influence architectural decisions and technical direction from day one. This is not a corporate maze – it’s an agile R&D environment where you can shape the future of our software, as long as you bring your colleagues with you. If you see a better way to do something, we want you to lead the change.
This is especially important now, as we move from today’s architecture to a more robust and scalable 2.0-version. We need someone who’s not afraid to challenge the status quo – and who’s excited to transform our systems for the future.
The software you’ll work on
You’ll work with our in-house application software PEAK, which controls acquisition of photoelectron spectra with Scienta Omicron analyzers. PEAK is a modern platform designed to optimize data acquisition, workflow, and live visualization for researchers. It’s developed entirely by our software team and constantly evolving to support the needs of cutting-edge scientists.
Your work will include:
- Developing PEAK and other software solutions for surface science instruments
- Collaborating closely with highly skilled R&D Scientists on new features
- Prototyping and testing directly with the instruments
- Taking part in architectural and design decisions
- As Senior: leading technical coherence, supporting others, and taking system-level responsibility
- As Junior: building skills in a supportive and deeply technical team
What you bring
- Strong coding skills in C++, C#, and Python
- Experience with embedded systems is a big plus
- Curiosity, technical depth, and willingness to dig into complex problems
- A collaborative and pragmatic mindset
- A strong interest in advanced technology and hardware interaction
- For Senior: readiness to take ownership and transform our architecture
- For Junior: solid foundations and a hunger to learn
