At Scienta Omicron we have, over the years, delivered over 1000 systems to leading researchers worldwide. As part of our strategy, we are committed to being the leader also in services related to our install base. To that end we have spent large efforts in recent years to develop our aftermarket business, focusing on all aspects, maintenance, upgrades and extensions as well as efficient spare parts supply. We are now looking for Director of Aftermarket to take these efforts to the next level.

What does the role and the business look like?

At Scienta Omicron, we have customers in all parts of the world. To serve these, we are 25 employees dedicated to service and aftermarket organized in 4 sales and service regions and three business units. The responsibility of the Director of Aftermarket is to lead and develop the complete Scienta Omicron aftermarket business and strategy. This is a matrix role where your ability to make people come together as a team is of the essence.

Over the last 5 years, our Aftermarket business has grown heavily. Last year the revenue was above 7 MEUR. However, we believe there is much more to do. Most of the maintenance is still performed by researchers themselves and upgrades and extensions are less common than in other industries. We are looking for someone to take our aftermarket business to the next level.

This role is part of the Scienta Omicron global management team and you report to the Director of Scienta Omicron. We are looking for someone to be located in Uppsala, Sweden or Taunusstein, Germany. Since the business is truly international, some travel is required.

Responsibilities include:

• Profit and loss responsibility for Scienta Omicron aftermarket
• Responsible for delivering best practice customer support
• Responsible for aftermarket business development
• product portfolio, product marketing and aftermarket sales
• growth strategies
• aftermarket processes and their development

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with an engineering background or similar. You have experience from a manufacturing industry and are comfortable in customer interactions. You have experience in leading teams or projects and you recognize the importance of teamwork in order to succeed in a matrix role. You are experienced in value argumentation and pricing and a strong communicator. Preferably, you have experience from services/aftermarket business development. The ideal candidate has been part of an aftermarket development journey in a different industry.
